Master Bath

This is the master bath & laundry area is within, which the original owner of the house added to it. The laundry area used to be outside in the carport storage... This is what gave me the idea of where and basically how we could add the new room onto the opposite end of the house. This bathroom is my favorite room. It's absolutely huge with a wonderful jetted tub. Oh the relaxation! (Pictures are from before we moved in.) We added a few things to the bathroom and fixed some tile... added my duckies! We had to get our first washer and dryer, and I found Lowe's had the best prices.

TIP: Cheaper isn't always better, but most expensive isn't aways best. We went low-mid line, and got a nice washer and dryer for about $500 total.

One More Year

Well we've decided in a year (after we get back a hefty tax return) we're going to add on our room! We've mapped it out and it's great. Until then I'll keep you posted on the other things going on with the house! Right now I'm home from work (Andrew was sick with a bug today). So I've been cleaning up and respraying for other bugs as well... ick. Gotta love the south. It doesn't matter how clean or new your house is here! Everyone gets roaches at some point. Either from the trees or else where. Oh what fun. This weekend I have to touch up some paint on some door ways. We moved some new furniture in and made a couple of dings in the process...

Smaller Projects

Well we've made a lot of changes to the house... we started by ripping down the wall paper in Andrew's room... NEVER again. Then we painted it blue and put up cars border, and he has a cars bed. It's the coolest room in the house! I will have to get a picture of it and post it sometime.

But we've added small things too. We added new curtains to the living room... I covered up those UGLY pink things above the windows and patio doors... Yeah. salmon. yuck. So I got some pretty ones up there now. Even the small changes make a difference.

Adam is in the process of cleaning out the shed... he put up our shelves last weekend (for our movies, on each side of the fire place). Space saver! Love it. This weekend we start on the yard. It needs a good mow... but with the fires in South Georgia, we couldn't get out last weekend like we wanted. It's smokey again today... I sure hope it clears up.

Other than all that, we did some minor things- repaired tile, put in threasholds across the doorways... sprayed for bugs (ew...) But it's all coming along slowly. Now if we could just be able to start working on adding a room...

Our House

Here are some pictures of our house! We'd like to add another room off the dining room...

Curtain Tip: When you can't afford drapes right away, just buy several long/wide curtains (Kmart) to put across larger windows or doors- get enough so that they gather well and don't look like seperate curtains. Our house came with expensive (but ugly) valances above the windows that would have been a pain in the you know where to take down... so I just covered them up with a scarve curtain (Kmart). To hang them I used pearl ball ended sewing pins that I spaced evenly apart for an "elegant" look. You can't really see it in these pictures, unfortunately. But in the end it looked a lot better than what was up there before!

Living Room: before we moved in (ugly pink curtains...)

Living Room: as we're moving in (ugly curtains again)

Living Room: After we're all moved in! (Ah... no ugly curtains.)

Moving Day! (That Window is what I want to knock out, turn into a door, and add a room!) Yes, that's my backside... woo hoo... lol

Contest

Well I've entered a contest to win money to renovate my home! Sure I would imagine the chances are slim... but hey, it's worth a shot right? We really want to be able to have another baby, but right now we're so crammed... I don't know where we'd put him/her!
